The south side of the island features a floating dock system protected from storms by the adjoining Little Barrett Island. The closest marina is only minutes away - Oak Point Marina on Parry Island. Alternatively, the island can be reached from mainland marinas either at Killbear Point or Parry Sound.

Located in Carling Township, bordering the Township of the Archipelago, Barrett's 7 acres overlook Batteau Island to the west and Jones's lighthouse to the southeast at the mouth of the deep water channel to Parry Sound.

The cottage, sited with commanding views of the surrounding islands, has the charm and flavour of vintage Georgian Bay. This original two-story structure, constructed in the 1930's, has been upgraded and well maintained by the present owners. The kitchen operates on propane. Gas generator and solar cells provide additional power.

The main cottage is anchored by a massive floor to ceiling fireplace constructed of Georgian Bay gray and pink granite. Cut granite also creates the hearth for the wood-burning stove in the spacious kitchen.

The classic Georgian Bay wrap-around porch allows for al fresco dining and sweeping views.

This 7 acre island is densely treed with maples, oaks and the distinctive white pines which lend their rugged beauty to the framing of glorious views. Great, smooth expanses of pink and gray granite allow for easy access to the choice swimming areas which surround the island.
